How It Works
This is when the fun and excitement starts. The beginning of Re-Energizing Your Organization Through Facility Improvements.
A FacilityBUILD account representative will discuss your project requirements and help coordinate the Design-Build process, including: site visit, budget and design development, cost-estimating, contract selection, and scheduling.
Our Design-Build team will visit your facility and meet with you and your staff to help assess and develop your facility improvement idea(s).
Our Design-Build team will take the site visit notes/sketches and develop the preliminary project schematics using CAD (Computer-Aided Design.) This can take a few days to several weeks based upon the size and complexity of the project.
A design-review meeting between the FacilityBUILD project team and your people will be scheduled to review the CAD drawing.
If changes and revisions are identified in the design-review meeting they will be made to CAD drawings and submitted to you for approval.
Our Design-Build team will develop a pricing package for distribution to suppliers/subcontractors for constructability input and competitive trade pricing. This is an important value-engineering step, because it often leads to cost-saving ideas directly from construction trade experts.
Once bids are received from suppliers and subcontractors, we’ll present a construction cost proposal to you. This line-item proposal will include cost-break down per trade category so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.
Although, our Design-Build team targets your project budget, at this point, owners often enjoy the flexibility of adding or deleting work elements.
Once the project is a go, our Design-Build team finalizes a set of working construction drawings including all mechanical/electrical/plumbing plans. Then the team takes care of all required regulatory approvals, building permits, and hazardous material testing. With your input, a project schedule is developed.
Subcontractors/suppliers are organized and a pre-construction meeting is held on-site to kick-off your project.
You will be provided a final project schedule detailing the work task elements. The project schedule will be periodically updated. You will also be kept abreast of construction progress weekly via an emailed project progress report.
Your project will be delivered on-schedule, on-budget and in compliance with all applicable buildings codes and our own QualPRO® high-quality and professional construction standards
At project completion, a walk-thru final inspection will be scheduled with you and your staff. Items requiring attention will be recorded and corrected. Building system training (if applicable) will be scheduled.
The delight and excitement continues with you taking possession of your newly renovated space(s) and/or brand new building. The sense of renewed energy your organization will feel is amazing, You’re on your way to increased productivity, innovation and enjoyment.
Upon completion of your project, You will receive your ProDOC™ project closeout report that includes all important project documentation. This file is prepared by FacilityBUILD and will include: warranties, building permits, inspections, product information, (equipment, painting colors, flooring materials, etc.) certificate of occupancy, project logs and photos, etc.
