The Albuquerque Convention Center was constructed in 1972 to serve the needs of events in the growing city of Albuquerque.<\/p>

\"\"The 50 – year old structure was in dire need of some work. The original clerestories and roof leaked. Causing many concerns and continual cleanup after moisture events.<\/p>

Our construction team, assisted the City of Albuquerque\u2019s Architects\/Engineers and Project Manager in the solution to this perplexing problem on this 300,000 sq. ft. 100 foot tall downtown structure.\u00a0<\/p>

The plan included demolition and rebuilding of the old clerestory structures and roofing using modern aluminum materials and thermoplastic Olefin (TPO) roofing materials.<\/p>

The project was made difficult due to the fact that the renovation plan called for access to the roof area, only by scaffolding. Scaffolding was installed both inside and outside to allow construction work to be performed on the interior and exterior.<\/p>

During construction, our team removed old deteriorated sections of the lightweight roof deck and repoured new materials as needed to create a stable deck for new TPO roofing installation.<\/p>

Thanks to the support and active participation of the City Construction Manager Keith Reed and the FacilityBUILD\u2019s construction team, the project was a success. Which wasn\u2019t easy, due to construction constraints of the Covid pandemic and supply chain and labor disruptions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
